Edward Johnston

Executive Producer, EJD Productions, LLC

E.J. Johnston formed EJD Productions with his partner James Deutch to create and produce groundbreaking, interactive programming that would help redefine the integration of brands and entertainment.

As Executive Producer on Fashion Star, NBC's latest reality competition series that searches for the next great brand, Johnston and Deutch created the format and helped bring together a panel of distribution for the show's winners that includes some of the biggest brands of our time: Macy's, H&M and Saks Fifth Avenue.

E.J. also acts as Executive Director and CEO of The Global Fashion Association, where he is responsible for setting strategic guidelines and parameters for the operation of the business, as well as overseeing the day-to-day communications and collaborations within GFA.

Previously Johnston served as Manager of Business Development for Getty Images' Entertainment Division in New York City. While at Getty, Johnston was responsible for selling all existing products and services on a global basis to events, corporations and agencies in the sports, fashion and entertainment industries and his clients' included international Film Festivals such as Sundance and Tribeca and more than a dozen of the world's best Fashion Week events.

At IMG, he was a member of the IMG Business Development Group and simultaneously the Director of Sales and Marketing for IMG Fashion where he oversaw IMG's wholly-owned Fashion Week events in New York, Los Angeles and Miami as well as consulted to several Fashion Weeks around the world including Paris, Milan, São Paulo, Mumbai, Sydney, Moscow, Mexico City and others. E.J. began his career in marketing and sales in Boston and served as an Account Coordinator at Hill, Holliday, an Account Executive at Arnold Worldwide and then as a Sales Representative for Fox Sports Network before making his move to New York City.

Johnston graduated from the Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania, with a B.S. in economics and a minor in business administration.
