SVP & Group Director, LiquidThread Chicago
In his role as SVP/Group Director of LiquidThread Chicago, Tom Weeks leads a 40-person team on all clients, including Kellogg, Walgreens, Samsung and Mars/Wrigley to name a few. A 23-year veteran of the advertising and entertainment industry, Weeks has helped set the industry standard for creating and executing strategic content opportunities, entertainment property tie-ins and brand-inspired content across many platforms and clients.
Weeks joined LiquidThread (f/k/a Starcom Entertainment) in 1997, and there began a decorated career in strategic content partnerships. He has been recognized on numerous occasions for his outstanding work in the realm of entertainment marketing and branded entertainment. His team's work was shortlisted at the 2009 Valencia Festival of Media Awards in the Best Communications/Entertainment Platform and Best Long-Term Strategy categories for the Frosted Flakes "Earn Your Stripes" campaign. Also in 2009, the "Earn Your Stripes" work won the Kellogg's W.K. Kellogg Award for Best Integrated Marketing Campaign and Innovation.
Tapping into the zeitgeist of the American Idol brand, Weeks created a seven-year partnership between Kellogg's and the Idol property (2002-2008). His instrumental role on the successful Kellogg's Pop-Tarts presents the American Idols Live! Tour has won him a number of awards, including PROMO Magazine's prestigious EMMA Award, Kellogg's W.K. Kellogg Award for Best Integrated Marketing Campaign, and a gold EFFIE. In 2008, Weeks was named a Media All-Star in the Alternative Media category by Mediaweek.
Before joining Starcom, Weeks was an account supervisor at Frankel in Chicago for four years. He has also worked at Kemper Securities and JSR Advertising— in both cases, serving as an account executive. He started his career at Harris/3M & Lanier Worldwide as a national account representative. Weeks earned a bachelor of science from Bowling Green University with a concentration in marketing and a specialization in advertising.
A key contributor to Starcom's support for the Off The Street Club charity organization, Weeks has served on the Swing For The Kids' executive committee for 12 years. With his friendly disposition and contagious energy, Weeks is always on the go and has a true passion for mentoring his team to achieve their personal best and deliver amazing work for the team's clients.
